Position Title: Preconstruction Associate

Department: Preconstruction/Estimating

Work Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30-4PM

We're seeking a detail-oriented Preconstruction Associate to support our estimating team and help ensure project data, takeoffs, and documentation are completed accurately and efficiently.

Primary Responsibilities:

Estimating & Bid Support

  • Review project plans, specifications, and scope requirements.
  • Create quantity takeoffs for pursuit and bidding activities.
  • Support estimators during bid preparation and submission.
  • Process takeoffs related to bulletins, field orders, and change requests.

Project Documentation & Tracking

  • Maintain project documentation in accordance with company standards.
  • Monitor bid activity, communications, and project metrics.
  • Manage historical project tracking information and reporting.
  • Prepare awarded projects for handoff to Operations.

Preconstruction Support

  • Partner with estimating, engineering, and VDC teams throughout the preconstruction process.
  • Assist Design team with model setup, and related activities.
  • Support process improvement efforts and departmental initiatives.
  • Provide document markup assistance and other support functions as needed.

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who combines strong organizational and technical skills with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast paced construction environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a professional office environment.
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret mechanical drawings, plans, and project specifications.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous Estimating or preconstruction experience
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud and/or Autodesk Forma
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk MEP Suite, or similar software platform
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Technical aptitude and comfort learning new systems and technologies
  • Interest in innovation and process improvement
  • Desire to develop a long term career in estimating and preconstruction
