Reports To:

President of GMCA, Inc. or Operations Manager, or Senior Project Manager

Job Summary:

Assist in the supervision of Assistant Estimators. Maintain client,

consultant and vendor relationships with GMCA, Inc.

Travel:

Travel to work sites on occasion

Responsibilities:

• Preconstruction Management for all CSI divisions and all types of building

construction projects including Renovations and ground out construction.

• Oversight and development of preconstruction staff hiring, training, work product,

scheduling and performance.

• Strategies for new business development, Marketing and procurement of new client

relationships.

• Establish and maintain new client and existing client relationships.

• Manage and assist with procurement of all documents, information and articles for

proposals and presentations.

• Lead preparation of proposals and presentations to existing and anticipated clients.

This would include negotiated, hard bid public and private proposals.

• Prepare and lead preconstruction strategy with approach to each proposal and

presentation.

• Manage and assist with maintaining and procurement of existing and new

subcontractor/vendor relationships.

• Provide clear scope of work to bidders.

• Pre-qualify all bidders not yet used on projects by company.

• Competitive bidding, budgeting, forecasting client contract negotiation and awards.

• Analyze potential project risk factors and pitfalls on a case-by-case basis.

• Lead in assembly of quantity take offs, subcontractor/vendor quotations.

Breakdown and coordinate scopes of work and cost analysis for all CSI Divisions for

each proposal.

• Establish and utilize working knowledge of company estimating and quantity takeoff

software (stack estimating, various services for procurement of bids, company

database).

• Utilize company present day estimating format, practices and procedures.

• Assist in the establishment of new and efficient company estimating practices and

processes succeeding mastery of existing procedures.

• Maintain estimating records for each proposal type and category.

• Lead and manage preconstruction hand off to Construction Department.

• Establish and maintain cost database for all CSI divisions.

Summary List of Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of all types of commercial construction.

• Ability to travel to project locations and/or meet with clients/owners/

prospective bidders as necessary.

• Preferred 4-year degree in Engineering/Architecture or Building Construction

discipline.

• Minimum 5-8 years experience in similar estimating position for a Commercial

Building General Contractor.

• Extensive knowledge of CSI format.

• Extensive knowledge of all building construction trades and disciplines.

• Strong Personnel management, Leadership and planning skills.

• High level of organization and management abilities.

• Deadline and detail oriented.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Knowledge of various types of computer software programs relative to

construction estimating and blueprint reading.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Skilled in quotation and documentation presentation and sales.
