Project Engineer Job Description

Project Management & Administration

·        Track project progress and provide regular updates to the Project Manager.

·        Prepare and maintain daily reports, photographs, and project documentation.

·        Assist the project manager with project scheduling and maintain two-week look-ahead schedules.

·        Review contract drawings, specifications, and project requirements.

·        Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, transmittals, and closeout documentation.

·        Maintain and update as-built drawings.

·        Coordinate project activities between field personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and Government representatives.

Quality Control (QC)

·        Assist in implementing and maintaining the Contractor Quality Control Program.

·        Review submittals for compliance with contract requirements.

·        Coordinate testing, inspections, and quality assurance activities.

Site Safety

·        Conduct daily site safety inspections and observations.

·        Support weekly toolbox talks and safety meetings.

·        Ensure compliance with company safety policies

Subcontractor Coordination

·        Coordinate subcontractor scheduling and work activities.

·        Conduct subcontractor preconstruction meetings.

·        Verify subcontractor work complies with project requirements.

Field Operations Support

·        Coordinate material deliveries and procurement activities.

·        Schedule utility locates and excavation permits as required.

·        Coordinate testing agencies and specialty inspectors.

Qualifications

·        3+ years of construction, project engineering, quality control, or field engineering experience with a college degree OR 8+ years of Overall Construction experience with few years of similar roles of managing on-site construction work.

·        Understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, & Project

·        P6 scheduling experience preferred but not required.

·        Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

·        Strong organizational and communication skills.

·        Federal construction experience preferred but not required

·        CQM and OSHA 30 certifications preferred, but will be trained upon start
