Job description

The YMCA is currently taking applications for a Nutrition Coach. The candidate is to aid in membership retention and growth by providing safe and effective coaching and assessments in a one-on-one setting; Answering members' nutrition-related questions, while building relationships with members and helping to connect members to each other. Inform members of fitness challenges and member appreciation events and encouraging their participation. Assist members in achieving health and fitness goals by assessing current nutrition and lifestyle habits and guiding clients to reflect on behaviors related to nutrition. Lead members through appointments and follow up with members after initial appointment.

Applicant should be a dynamic, highly motivating, and energetic relationship builder with strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be committed to the YMCA mission and dedicated to serving our members through our fitness programs; must be able to articulate the YMCA mission and core values to YMCA members and perspective members; must be well-organized, reliable, punctual, and professional; must be comfortable and familiar with online platforms for virtual appointments and assessments. Must be mentally alert to recognize potential hazards and accidents and both physically and mentally able to respond to emergencies and perform CPR and/or First Aid; must hold nationally recognized nutrition certification from one of the following: INHS, Precision Nutrition, NASM, Stanford Centre for Health, NCSF, Cornell University Online, ISSN, ACE. Must also complete required safety trainings including CPR, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens, and Child Abuse Prevention as well as YMCA of the USA Healthy Lifestyle Principles. Current required certifications and trainings are the responsibility of the employee.
