Now, as one of our most experienced team members prepares to retire, we're looking for the next talented Landscape Architect / Sales Leader to help guide clients and lead projects that continue this legacy.

Position Overview

This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of your designs from concept through completion, while building lasting client relationships. As our Landscape Architect / Sales Leader, you'll play a vital role in both design development and project sales, collaborating with our in-house teams and trusted subcontractors to bring each vision to life.

You'll work closely with homeowners who are investing in their outdoor spaceslistening, designing, and guiding them through each step of the process.

What You'll Do Client Engagement & Sales
  • Respond to inbound project inquiries and conduct initial phone screenings

  • Meet with clients onsite to understand goals, evaluate site conditions, and begin shaping the vision

  • Present proposals with clarity, professionalism, and creative insight

  • Build and maintain relationships that lead to repeat business and referrals

  • Generate new leads through organic networking and visibility in the community

Design & Planning
  • Develop custom landscape designs using 2D or 3D software (Realtime 3D, Uvision, SketchUp, or AutoCAD)

  • Choose appropriate hardscape and plant materials to match client needs, site requirements, and budget

  • Create concept plans, site renderings, and materials packages for presentation

Estimating & Project Management
  • Prepare detailed take-offs and estimates for labor and materials

  • Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to finalize pricing

  • Serve as the client's main point of contact throughout the entire build process

  • Lead kickoff meetings with field crews, monitor progress, and ensure high-quality execution

  • Conduct final walkthroughs, manage change orders, and ensure successful project closeout

QualificationsEducation & Experience
  • Degree or Certification in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, Horticulture, or a related field preferred

  • Experience in residential landscape design, sales, estimating, and project management

Skills & Software
  • Proficient in landscape design software (Realtime 3D, Uvision, AutoCAD, Dynascape, SketchUp)

  • Comfortable using CRM tools; Salesforce experience is a plus

  • Ability to read, interpret, and produce detailed landscape plans

  • Strong understanding of plant material, hardscape systems, and construction methods

  • Comfortable guiding high-end residential clients through a personalized design/build process

  • Well-organized and self-directed with the ability to manage multiple active projects

Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Salary: $80,000$120,000+ per year (based on experience and results)

  • Commission Pay: Performance-based incentives

Work Location & Hours
  • This is an in-person role primarily based out of our Elburn office, with regular time spent in the field meeting with clients and overseeing projects.

  • Projects primarily located across Geneva, St. Charles, Batavia, North Aurora, Sugar Grove, Wayne, South Elgin, and nearby communities

  • Typical work schedule is MondayFriday, but as with all client-facing and project-driven roles, hours and location may vary based on project needs and business demands. Flexibility and responsiveness are key to success in this role.
