Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Level 4 Graphic Designer with deep expertise in Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) and Computer Graphics Metafile (CGM) formats. This role is ideal for a seasoned designer who thrives in structured, technical environments and can bridge the gap between visual design and engineering documentation.
You will play a critical role in developing, maintaining, and optimizing graphics for complex systems, including technical publications, interactive electronic technical manuals (IETMs),curriculum, and digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality vector graphics using SVG and CGM formats
  • Convert, clean, and optimize legacy graphics into standardized formats for modern systems
  • Collaborate with engineering, technical publications, and product teams to interpret technical data into clear visual representations
  • Ensure graphics comply with industry standards, including S1000D, MIL-STD, and customer-specific requirements
  • Develop reusable graphic templates, symbols, and libraries
  • Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability
  • Support integration of graphics into IETMs, web-based platforms, and other digital delivery systems
  • Troubleshoot compatibility issues across tools and publishing environments

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of professional graphic design experience, with a focus on technical or engineering environments
  • Advanced proficiency in SVG creation and optimization
  • Strong working knowledge of CGM (creation, editing, and conversion)
  • Experience with tools such as Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or specialized CGM editors
  • Familiarity with technical publication standards (S1000D)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex datasets
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical data

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or manufacturing industries
  • Knowledge of IETM/IETP systems and workflows
