Precision Fiber Solutions information

What is precision fiber solutions?

Precision Fiber Solutions refers to companies or services specializing in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic networks. These organizations provide high-quality connectivity solutions for telecommunications, internet service providers, and businesses by deploying advanced fiber optic technologies. Their work ensures reliable, high-speed data transmission for homes and enterprises, often involving splicing, testing, and troubleshooting fiber cables. Precision Fiber Solutions may also consult on or design customized networking setups to meet specific client needs.

What are some typical challenges faced by professionals working in precision fiber solutions, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in precision fiber solutions often encounter challenges related to maintaining high accuracy during fiber optic installation and splicing, especially when working in diverse field environments. Managing tight deadlines while ensuring minimal signal loss and adhering to strict safety standards can also be demanding. To address these challenges, it's important to stay current with industry-standard tools, participate in ongoing training, and foster strong communication with team members and project managers. Collaboration and attention to detail are essential for delivering reliable, high-quality fiber optic solutions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a fiber optic technician, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Fiber Optic Technician, you need a solid understanding of fiber optic installation, splicing, troubleshooting, and safety practices, often supported by relevant certifications or technical training. Familiarity with tools such as OTDRs (Optical Time Domain Reflectometers), fusion splicers, and fiber testing equipment is typically required. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication are crucial soft skills in this role. These competencies ensure precise network installations, minimize downtime, and maintain high-performance connectivity for clients.

What is the difference between Precision Fiber Solutions vs Fiber Optic Technician?

Position Overview

The Planning Optimization Leader is responsible for enabling endtoend planning excellence across fibers, yarn, extrusion, finished goods, and hard/soft surface supply chains. This role merges OMP Master Planning, Inventory Optimization, and Analytics, ensuring that supply plans, capacity models, data systems, and inventory strategies work together to deliver worldclass service, optimized cost, and improved planning precision.

The Analyst serves as a cross-functional integrator-connecting Planning, Sourcing, Logistics, Manufacturing, Data & Analytics, Customer Care, and Planning Technology teams to drive improved alignment, visibility, and decision-making across the enterprise.

This role is ideal for an analytically strong planning professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys solving problems that span multiple value streams.

Responsibilities:

Integrated Supply & Inventory Planning

  • Optimization of the OMP advanced planning tool for Fibers and carpet's long-range, integrated supply plans

  • Ensure processes are maintaining a timephased inventory and capacity plans to balance customer service expectations (OTIF, fill rate) with operational constraints.

  • Evaluate supply, capacity, and inventory scenarios to ensure systems are clearly identifying and predicting bottlenecks and propose corrective actions.

Optimization & Analytics

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Integrated Planning analytics, providing insights that improve forecast accuracy, inventory health, and supply plan execution.

  • Partner with data analysts and IT Planning teams to develop dashboards, KPIs, and automated reports to support daily and strategic planning activities.

  • Mine, prepare, and analyze structured and unstructured datasets to influence business decisions that impact manufacturing and inventory costs

  • Partner with data analysts to build complex SQL or analytical models to enhance visibility into production, run strategies, constraints, and inventory trends.

Cross-Functional Integration

  • Partner with Fiber/Yarn Manufacturing, Hard Surface Planning, Customer Care, Sales, Sourcing, and Logistics to align production, inventory, and demand plans.

  • Serve as a connector between operational planning and enterprise strategic planning (IBP/S\&OP).

  • Facilitate decision-making by translating complex data into simple, actionable insights for stakeholders.

Process Improvement & Standard Work

  • Identify process gaps across extrusion, twisting/heatset, carpet manufacturing, and planning systems; develop and implement solutions.

  • Lead or support parameter governance for OMP (e.g., lead times, MOQ logic, min/max, safety stock, yarn conversion assumptions).

Operational Support

  • Demonstrated experience leading projects and managing organizational change, ensuring timely delivery, stakeholder alignment, and successful adoption of new processes or systems.

  • Monitor fiber, yarn, and finished goods inventories-including kanban logic-and drive continuous improvements in target levels and replenishment processes.

  • Provide daily visibility tools to support production scheduling, network health, service performance, and bottleneck identification.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Analytics, or related field.

  • 5-10 years of experience in Supply Chain, Planning, Manufacturing roles with Data/Analytics related experience.

  • Experience with OMP, HSRP, or similar planning tools.

  • Proven experience using analytics to solve business problems and support decision-making.

  • Proficiency with AI tools and data analytics applications to drive insights, automation, and business decision-making.

Preferred

  • Experience in fiber/yarn, extrusion, or carpet planning.

  • APICS/ASCM (CPIM/CSCP) certification.

  • Experience in time-series forecasting or advanced statistical modeling

  • Experience integrating AI capabilities and advanced analytics into business workflows to enhance forecasting accuracy, decision quality, and operational efficiency.

Success in this Role:

The ideal candidate is:
