About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Data Capture Technician to operate reality capture equipment, such as 360-degree cameras and other surveying tools, in a variety of environments. The technician will be responsible for capturing comprehensive data of construction sites using different equipment and methodologies that align with algorithmic analysis.

We are looking for someone who is hardworking, responsible, and passionate about fieldwork, with the ability to effectively use technology to collect detailed site information. This is a part-time role, requiring one day of work per week.

What You'll Do

  • Operate 360 cameras and other surveying equipment to efficiently capture the construction site.
  • Document and communicate the progress of the work being done on-site.
  • Ensure personal safety and the safety of the site and equipment by strictly following all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Project Team to adapt to the needs and requirements of each project.
  • Work on a large-scale construction sites in Texas as part of the role.

Must Haves

  • Availability for one full weekday (8 to 10 hours) each week
  • Comfort working on active construction sites and in varying outdoor conditions
  • Strong work ethic - dependable, motivated, and committed to high-quality execution
  • Ability to walk long distances and perform physical tasks throughout the day
  • Solid communication skills and demonstrates a strong commitment to safety awareness, including the ability to identify and follow both general and site/client-specific protocols.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to solve problems independently
    Nice To Have
  • Experience in Construction, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or similar fields
  • Previous fieldwork or site-based work experience
  • Technical orientation or familiarity with equipment (Professional training will be provided to work on construction sites)

Important: Please read before applying. This is not a standard videography or flexible freelance gig. We are looking for reliable, punctual, and physically active individuals to capture critical data on active construction sites.

The logistics:

  • Part-Time / Project-Based: Each construction site requires 1-2 days of capture per week. This is not a full-time role unless you are willing and able to cover multiple sites within your region.
  • Fixed Schedule: Our capture days are set by the project locations. We require full-day availability (typically 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM). This role is not compatible with "after-hours" work or flexible university schedules.

Safety and Requirements:

  • OSHA 10 Certification: Safety is our priority. All technicians must have a valid OSHA 10 certification before their first day on-site.
    • Already certified? Great, you can start immediately.
    • Not certified? We will provide the support and resources to help you complete this training before you begin.
  • Safety Gear: Steel-toed safety boots are mandatory at all times. If you don't already own a pair, we will reimburse the cost to ensure you have the correct protection.
  • The Environment: You will be on active construction sites. This means wearing full PPE (hard hat, boots, high-vis), walking 20,000+ steps a day, and working outdoors regardless of the weather.
  • Precision Over Creativity: Your goal is high-quality, systematic data capture following a strict technical brief.
