Pre-Weight 

Position Summary
The Pre-Weigh Technician is responsible for accurately weighing, measuring, and staging raw materials according to production batch records and formulas. This role ensures materials are prepared safely, accurately, and efficiently to support manufacturing operations while maintaining compliance with quality, safety, GMP, and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Weigh and measure ingredients and raw materials according to batch tickets and production specifications.
  • Verify material identities, lot numbers, and expiration dates before use.
  • Stage materials for production in a timely manner to meet manufacturing schedules.
  • Record weights and production data accurately in batch records and inventory systems.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, food safety, and company quality standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pre-weigh and storage areas.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified).
  • Perform inventory transactions and assist with cycle counts as required.
  • Report discrepancies, material shortages, or quality concerns to supervisors.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist with additional warehouse and production tasks as needed.

Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma or GED required.
Experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in food manufacturing, ingredient handling, warehouse operations, or production environments preferred.
  • Experience working in GMP-regulated environments is a plus.
 
 
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic math skills and ability to perform weight conversions.
  • Ability to read and follow batch records, work instructions, and SOPs.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with inventory systems preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • Comfortable working around food ingredients, powders, and flavor compounds.
Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and food ingredients.
  • May require overtime, weekends, or flexible scheduling based on production demands.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Forklift certification.
  • Experience with ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Food, ingredient, flavor, or nutritional supplement industry experience.
