Our Ambulatory Surgery Center allows us to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate surgical care in an outpatient setting.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pre-Op/PACU Nurse to join our surgical team. This unique role combines both pre-operative and post-recovery care, ensuring patients are supported throughout their surgical journey. The position is Monday–Friday, daytime hours only—no nights, weekends, or holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments, including vitals, medical history, medications, and allergies.
  • Start and manage IVs, verify consents, and prepare patients for surgery.
  • Provide patient and family education on surgical procedures, expectations, and recovery instructions.
  • Monitor patients in the PACU following anesthesia—manage vitals, airway, pain, and nausea.
  • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and discharge protocols.
  • Ensure patients meet established recovery criteria before safe discharge.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical staff to deliver seamless care.
  • Maintain compliance with ASC safety and infection control standards.
  • Support seamless patient care by assisting other Solstice Health clinic locations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license in Wisconsin.
  • BLS/ACLS certification required.
  • 1–2 years of recent experience in Pre-Op, PACU, or perioperative nursing.
  • Strong communication, assessment, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced outpatient surgical environment.
