Job description

Are you an IP Litigation Paralegal?  Would you like to work with one of the top mid-sized law firms in the region?    If so, R & W Group has a fantastic new opportunity!  One of our favorite law firm clients is looking for a Litigation Paralegal.  You must be able to handle all aspects of complex litigation, from pre-litigation phase, through trial and appeal.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Organizing and maintaining case files and databases on a daily basis;
  • Maintaining case dockets and advising attorneys of due dates;
  • Organizing and coordinating document retrieval and review projects;
  • Performing basic legal and factual research;
  • Assisting in the preparation of pleadings, exhibits, written discovery and production documents for motions, discovery, hearings and trials;
  • Cite checking and proofreading pleadings and other documents;
  • Overseeing and managing all aspects of a case from pre-litigation through trial and appeal;
  • Ability to work independently with a strong attention to details; and
  • Maintaining up-to-date time reports to ensure accurate client billing.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 3+ years of federal district court litigation experience;
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills;
  • Ability to set priorities and multi-task;
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills;
  • Knowledge of federal court rules and procedures, litigation terminology and documentation, and docketing procedures;
  • Computer proficient, with experience and working knowledge of Lexis, Westlaw, and other litigation-research databases;
  • Familiarity with case management software, E-Discovery, and Electronic Case Filing (CM/ECF) procedures is required;
  • IP litigation, PTAB and/or ITC experience; and
  • Ability to work overtime and some travel may be required.
 
In this role, you may be sitting for long periods of time and must be able to lift 10 pounds. The core hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including one hour for lunch. Must be flexible to work overtime as needed.    The firm offers a hybrid work schedule: 3 days in-office; 2 days remote.
