EGC employs more than 120 skilled craft workers that focus on safety, quality and customer satisfaction. We offer general, commercial and industrial construction including electrical work, millwrights, pipe fitters and structural steel erectors.
 
Headquartered in Newport, Kentucky and have been servicing local, regional, and international clients since 1978. EGC is committed to safety and the continuous improvement of our safety systems. We have received national safety awards as a result of our performance.
 
We are currently seeking structural steel welder for our steel erection group.  Iron worker and metal building erection is a plus but not required.
 
What You Will Do:
  • Weld structural steel connections for new and retrofit steel erection projects.
  • Inspect welds as necessary to meet product specifications
  • Fitting , connecting and bolt up of structural steel
  • Steel cutting with a torch and grinding.
  • Assist with steel erection connecting and bolt up.
  • Equipment rigging.
  • Pre engineered metal building erection
  • Follow job site safety and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work area. Identify safety hazards to protect self and others.
What You Will Bring:
  • Must be able to certify in stick structural welding
  • OSHA 10/30 Certified, preferred.  If you do not have OSHA 10/30, it will be required before starting the position (certification paid by company)
  • Lift trained
  • RTF and forklift experience
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Candidates must have transportation and good communication skills
  • Be willing to work within a 50-mile radius. Willingness to travel to other states for work is a plus!
  • Be able to work in a variety of seasonal and weather conditions
Abilities:
  • Possess all auditory, speaking and communicating capabilities
  • Physical requirements: standing, walking, bending, twisting, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50lbs., seeing and reading
