Job Summary:


The Medical Assistant (MA) Apprentice will participate in Jordan Valley’s Department of Labor Registered MA Apprentice Program, receiving on-the-job skills training and related technical instruction from the Nursing Education Coordinator and other appropriately qualified Jordan Valley staff. The program curriculum is structured to support the MA apprentice in passing the National Health career Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam and transitioning into a full-time MA role at Jordan Valley at the conclusion of the program.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend all scheduled classes.
  • Maintain an 80% average on all graded assignments.
  • Maintain a score at or above the national average on all NHA practice exams.
  • Actively participate in hands-on training to achieve competency in required program skills (such as phlebotomy, taking manual blood pressure, etc.).
  • Actively participate in shadow and externship rotations at various Jordan Valley clinics and locations.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all aspects of job performance
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the mission, vision and values of Jordan Valley in all aspects of job performance
  • Comply with all Jordan Valley policies, procedures, and protocols
  • All other duties as assigned.
