Job description

BPM-PR Firm is a premier public relations agency committed to delivering innovative and impactful communication strategies for a diverse clientele. With a focus on creativity, a multi layered media approach, strategic thinking, and client satisfaction, we excel in building, enhancing, and safeguarding our clients' reputations in today's dynamic media landscape. We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Senior Publicist to join our team.
Position Summary:
As a Senior Publicist at BPM-PR Firm, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing strategic PR campaigns for our clients. Reporting to the Department Director, you will be responsible for securing media coverage, building relationships with journalists and influencers, partnerships, and driving brand awareness for our clients across various industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of securing high-profile media placements, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of media relations and storytelling.
Day-to-day activities will include:

  • Develop and execute strategic PR campaigns to meet client objectives and goals.
  • Liaise on a daily basis with clients, in-house publicists, and the media.
  • Outreach to build new relationships and network within the media.
  • Monitor the media, including newspapers, magazines, journals, broadcasts, newswires, television, and blogs, for opportunities for clients.
  • Monitor the media for closed media placements.
  • Use system databases and systems to pull researched media lists and continuous online research for new build new media relationships.
  • Work as part of a department account team to develop client proposals and implement PR activity strategies.
  • Create monthly PR plans and strategies to guide campaign execution and ensure alignment with client goals.
  • Create timely media angles and pitches for responsive news, leveraging current events and trends to secure media coverage.
  • Manage and track media samples, ensuring accurate inventory, timely distribution, and effective follow-up on all samples.
  • Communicate daily with the team to coordinate efforts, share updates, and effectively manage client workloads.
  • Prepare regular client reports and attend client meetings.
  • Create press releases and pitch letters, crafting compelling narratives to attract media attention and secure coverage for clients.
  • Assist in researching, writing, and distributing press releases to targeted media.
  • Promote news stories and features to the media.
  • Collate, analyze, and evaluate incoming media coverage.
  • Ensure all media coverage is correct and communicate media placements ongoing to clients
  • Assist in event creation, including press conferences and on-site events for fashion, beauty, entertainment, and general promotions.
  • Attend and promote client events to media and networks.
  • Coordinate and manage client sample mailings.
  • Undertake research for client strategy, press releases, media strategies and present to potential new clients.
  • Manage the PR & Client aspect of possible crisis situations.
  • Manage department interns.
  • Prepare regular client reports and attend client meetings.
Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public relations or journalism, with a focus on media relations.
  • Proven track record of securing high-profile media placements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong media relationships and contacts across various industries.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and brand building.
  • Proficiency in media monitoring and measurement tools.
  • Experience with crisis communication and issues management is a plus.
  • Firm experience is required.
