Job description

 Director - Heersink School of Medicine, Medical Alumni Association
The University of Alabama at Birmingham

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Director for the Heersink School of Medicine, Medical Alumni Association within the Office of Advancement.  The position is responsible for developing and implementing engagement, communication, and event strategies that strengthen and enhance programs for alumni and student engagement. The Director will manage student and young alumni programming, plan and execute meetings, educational programs, special events and more to enhance alumni engagement efforts.

This position reports directly to the Senior Director of the Medical Alumni Association and serves as an integral member of both the Heersink School of Medicine Development team and UAB Advancement.

This position is full-time, hybrid eligible after the probationary period.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
    Creates and develops programs to engage student and young alumni, manages student engagement programs and serves as point of contact for all young alumni and student related programming.
    Primary administrator for all MAA social media and website content and manages all website support for MAA alumni members. Leads the development of MAA publications, writing, editing and proofing MAA Newsletter, E-News quarterly, creates graphics for marketing and invitations for MAA programs and events. Develops content, identifies speakers, and hosts the online CME Series.
    Plans and coordinates meetings, luncheons, dinners, receptions and other special events. Attends MAA or Heersink School of Medicine events to represent the MAA and develop alumni relationships. Manages Young Alumni reunion event, prepares quarterly updates on student and young alumni programming for board meetings and schedules student volunteers.
    Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Pay Range: $63,875 - $75,000
 

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field and five (5) years of related experience. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
