Job Description

Perform tasks related to the recovery, departure, general servicing (refuel and defuel, oxygen, potable water, lavatories, engine oils, tires, aircraft towing, etc.) and the removal, balance and reinstallation of flight controls. Verify all associated paperwork pertaining to aircraft maintenance is properly documented.


Job duties:

· Ensures parking area for arriving aircraft is set up with appropriate equipment to accomplish task (chocks, entry stand, wands, tow vehicle, tow bar, personal safety equipment, tools).

· Removal, weight and balance, reinstallation, and travel checks of aircraft flight controls utilizing hand-operated tools and specialized equipment.

· Ensure towpath of aircraft to hangar is clear of obstacles.

· Inspect powered and non-powered ground support equipment for serviceability prior to use around aircraft.

· Work closely with upper management, inspection, production managers and assistants, and customer representative to ensure aircraft schedules are met.

· Ability to accomplish minor composite and sheet metal repairs for which individual is certified to accomplish, with proper documentation of paperwork.

· Ability to research aircraft maintenance manuals for related task to be accomplished and comprehend associated material.

· Administer and accomplish on the job training, ensuring paperwork is properly documented.

· Knowledge of chemicals used to accomplish certain tasks, locations and ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets (MSDS).

· Operates aerial lift equipment and forklifts.

· Ability to tow aircraft in and out of hangar.

· Ability to accomplish maintenance using hand tools and power tools as required.


Work Experience

Job requirements:

· Current Airframe & Powerplant Certificate

· 6 months experience in FAA Part 121 and/or 145, preferred

· Reading, writing, and basic arithmetic

· Shall be familiar with FAA regulations and procedures relative to the scope of normally assigned tasks

· Basic computer skills and ability to research customer maintenance manuals
