We are looking for an Automation and Controls Engineer to join our team at our Wylie, Texas facility. The Control Systems Engineer position will be responsible for the development, installation and troubleshooting of Control System Architectures, PLC programs (Allen-Bradley), HMI programming, Drives, SCADA systems, control panels and instrumentation. You will design and implement a variety of fiber, wired and wireless systems using industrial protocols (Ethernet/IP, etc.).
This position will involve programming and troubleshooting in an industrial environment. You will support the maintenance team with troubleshooting and problem resolution. You will be responsible for the specification and installation of new plant automation equipment. You will lead electrical projects including new, replacement, and repair of equipment. Your highest priority will be to enforce safe work practices and design safety into all of your systems. You must maintain good working relationships with all of your fellow employees as well as vendors and contract support staff.
Requirements
  • Industry experience in Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls Engineering
  • Proficiency with PLCs (A/B ControlLogix)
  • Experience and knowledge of HMIs (FactoryTalk Machine Addition, Wonderware)
  • Proficiency in PLC Programming including ladder logic, function block, and structured text
  • Proficiency in Drive programming (Powerflex, ABB)
  • Familiarity with networking (Ethernet/IP)
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Mechatronics is a plus but not a requirement . Please provide transcript if you are a recent graduate.
  • 5 years of experience is a plus but not a requirement if aptitude is apparent
  • Logic skills and the ability to problem solve
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Ability to design and build electrical systems and panels is a plus
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Ignition is a plus but not a requirement
