Job Title: SQL Developer
Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States
Job Mode: Hybrid
Summary: Seeking a highly motivated individual who possesses strong technical and analytical skills, with an understanding of the wholesale brokerage insurance industry preferred. The individual will be senior developer/system analyst and is expected to work with business to understand requirements and support application, work with Business Analyst and QE team to ensure quality solution delivery. Effective collaboration with the business users and various stakeholders is required. Serves as mentor, advisor and guide to the team of developers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Serve as a senior developer to design, develop, and implement solution.
• Single point of contact for development for existing stack of applications and supporting production incidents.
• Maintain and improve the functionality of existing software applications.
• Manage and support SQL database environment, including production, testing, and development.
• Analyze complex technical information to determine risk, impact, and mitigation strategies.
• Create and maintain technical documentation to guide system users and assist with training.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technology advancements.
• Work closely with business leads and product owners to understand requirements.
• Guide development & support teams. Mentor team members. Technical/ functional guidance on the application.
• Work on configuration changes.
Required Skills
• Familiarity with a variety of both legacy and modern Policy Admin platforms.
Property & Casuality experience (preferably in Specialty Insurance).
• Hands on SQL, VBScript and Javascript experience - 8+ years.
• Experience in ETL and SSIS packages and workflow/automation creation.
• Experience in with Documaker, Rackley, Infomaker, PowerBuilder, Retool, GoAnywhere, Redgate Tools, Git.
• Knowledge of ConceptOne, AIM and ImageRight will be preferred.
• Solid experience working in Agile environment. Both Scrum and Kanban.
• Hands on experience with Jira, Confluence, Service Now, ITIL tools and process framework.
• Solid Understanding of Web applications, cloud managed services, service-oriented architecture (SOA) solutions, microservices, containers, API development and managed databases.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Nice to have Cloud experience, Azure Cloud, GCP.
Education/Experience
• Bachelor's degree in information technology or computer science
