Pay Rate: Open
Location: Irvine, San Diego, San Jose – CA
Work Mode: Onsite / Hybrid (based on team needs)
Duration: 2+ years contract

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Low Power Verification / Power Analysis Engineer with strong expertise in pre-silicon and signoff power analysis. The candidate will work closely with Design, Design Verification (DV), Architecture, and Physical Design teams to define, analyze, and optimize low-power strategies, improving overall PPA (Power, Performance, Area) for advanced SoC designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Design, DV, and Architecture teams to define and verify low-power vectors.
  • Generate early and signoff power estimates using tools such as PPRTL, PowerArtist, Calypto, and PrimeTime PX (PTPX) or equivalent low-power tools.
  • Analyze power data and work with Physical Design (PD) and RTL teams to optimize designs for low power and improved PPA.
  • Enhance and support low-power analysis flows; engage with EDA tool vendors to resolve power-related tool and flow issues.
  • Run and analyze chip-level EMIR simulations; experience with RedHawk / RHSC is highly preferred.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell, TCL, Perl, or Python.
  • Support correlation of pre-silicon power estimates with post-silicon measurements (plus).
  • Participate in design reviews and communicate power analysis findings effectively to cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in low-power verification and power analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with pre-silicon and signoff power tools (PTPX or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of low-power design methodologies.
  • Experience collaborating across Design, DV, Architecture, and PD teams.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language: Shell, TCL, Perl, or Python.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Experience with EMIR analysis at chip level.
  • Hands-on experience with RedHawk and RHSC.
  • Experience correlating pre-silicon vs post-silicon power data.
  • Exposure to advanced-node SoC designs.
