The Complex Settlements Senior Analyst will be responsible for the invoicing and settlement of accounts assigned to Complex Settlements. Also for allocating charges based on several parameters and work closely with other Clean Energy teams to ensure proper and timely invoicing, payables, and accounting. In addition, it will play a key role in digitalization and automation projects and will have a strong understanding of AES Clean Energy's assets and products. The position will report to the Manager of Complex Settlements.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely invoicing of key accounts.
  • Responsible for settlement parameter/condition accuracy and completeness throughout the settlement process.
  • Primary interface between origination/settlements/commercial groups.
  • Track incoming assets and power agreements, preparing setup for settlement
  • Responsible for data accuracy and completeness related to assigned accounts.
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely accounting and settlements of accounts.
  • Responsible for testing and implementation of market protocol/tariff changes into existing process flows and systems.
  • Works to integrate new agreements that may not have existing processes.
  • Work to automate/improve processes for scalability and efficiency using available tools and resources.
  • Work to ensure all existing and future processes meet control and compliance requirements and assist with audit data request.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Coordinate AES CE setup in external payment systems.
  • Coordinate counterparty setup throughout internal systems.
  • Create/maintain process documentation.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, MIS, other areas may be considered.
  • Complex power settlements/accounting experience 3+ years.
  • Complete understanding of RTO/ISO charge types, calculation, rules, procedures, and data flows.
  • Experience working with Energy trading, settlements, scheduling, operations, back office.
  • Experience with ETRM and Bid-to-Bill systems Adapt2/Allegro useful.
  • Understanding of end-to-end energy market/process
  • Understanding of Accounting principles and processes, with particular appreciation to close deadlines.
  • Ability to read, understand, and translate complex contracts, applying requirement into settlements process.
  • Preferred 3+ years of experience in the Energy industry.
  • Detailed understanding of energy commodity transactions.
  • Office Products experience with intermediate/advanced EXCEL skills , Power Query skills a plus..
