Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Engineer works under general supervision to provide Engineering support to field and staff personnel through a variety of projects and assignments. The Engineer also evaluates system performance through modeling, develops system designs, oversees construction, maintenance, and operations activities, investigates incidents, trouble-shoots systems and equipment, tests materials, and performs other assignments. 

As an Engineer you will learn to:

  • Work with a variety of analytical software to provide solutions to improve efficiency of natural gas transmission and distribution systems
  • Understand the operation of gas facilities to properly supply natural gas to customers
  • Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure (MAOP) reconfirmation program management
  • Risk Modeling 
  • In line inspection planning and execution 
  • External Corrosion Direct Assessment planning and execution
  • Develop knowledge of the installation process of new facilities and the retirement of existing ones as a part of new pipeline construction program
  • Ensure we are delivering a quality service to our customers
  • Develop knowledge of gate stations and regulator vaults
  • Work with various stakeholders and provide input on technical engineering aspects of projects
  • Develop understanding of various industry standards and federal code requirements (49 CFR Part 192)
  • Create Annual reports that are internally or externally required 
     

This position is part of the Engineering job family (Associate Engineer/Engineer/Senior Engineer). Experience will be the determining factor.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and meet company standards for driving
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with transmission pipelines 
  • Experience with (49 CFR Part 192)
  • Experience with ESRI products such as ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro

End Date: 07/28/2026 

Pay Range Minimum:  $68,436.68 

Pay Range Maximum:  $135,761.08 

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.  At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
