Position Overview:
Atwell is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Power Generation to lead a growing portfolio of projects across our Power & Energy team. This is a senior leadership role responsible for advancing utility-scale and large-scale infrastructure projects across Solar, BESS, Wind, Transmission, Substation, and related power delivery and generation systems. As the Director, you will lead a dynamic team of Associate Directors, Project Managers, and technical design staff, providing both technical leadership and client-facing expertise. This role will be instrumental in staff development, recruiting, operational execution, and annual business planning, helping drive sustainable growth and support company revenue goals across the broader Power Generation market.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and oversee Atwell's Power Generation efforts across utility-scale Solar, BESS, Wind, Transmission, Substation, and related power infrastructure projects throughout the U.S.
• Provide strategic technical leadership and direction for engineering, design, and project execution efforts within the Power & Energy team
• Manage and mentor a team of Associate Directors, Project Managers, and technical staff, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing environment
• Act as a senior client liaison, building and maintaining strong client relationships while supporting project delivery from early-stage development through detailed design and execution
• Partner with internal leadership to grow and strengthen Atwell's presence across the broader Power Generation market, helping expand both existing client relationships and new business opportunities
• Develop, retain, and recruit top talent in engineering, project management, and technical leadership to support long-term team growth
• Drive annual business planning in collaboration with executive leadership, including revenue forecasting, staffing strategy, and market growth initiatives
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure strong project performance and successful client outcomes
• Support the continued evolution of internal processes, delivery standards, and team structure to improve consistency, efficiency, and scalability across Power Generation projects

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; PE license highly preferred
• Minimum of 12+ years of professional experience in Power & Energy, with strong experience supporting utility-scale or large-scale power generation and delivery projects
• Demonstrated experience across one or more of the following markets: Solar, BESS, Wind, Transmission, Substation, or broader power infrastructure
• Proven track record in client-facing leadership roles, with strong project management, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Demonstrated experience leading, developing, and mentoring multidisciplinary teams, with a passion for talent development and organizational growth
• Strong strategic planning and business leadership skills, including experience with annual planning, team development, and revenue growth initiatives
• Technical understanding of engineering and design workflows relevant to power generation and related infrastructure projects
• Ability to thrive in a remote work environment and travel as needed to support clients, projects, and internal team initiatives

Pay Range - $140,000 - $190,000 base + Bonus + Benefits.
