We’re looking for people who think big, act fearlessly, and create an inclusive environment that drives positive impact to join our team.

What you'll do

We are seeking an experienced Senior Power Electronics Engineer to provide critical technical ownership and continuity for power electronics architecture, design, and qualification following the retirement of a key subject matter expert. This P5level role is essential to sustaining and advancing power supply capability that underpins Gemini payload reliability and overall program success.

This position serves as a senior individual contributor and technical authority, working on complex and highimpact power electronics hardware across flight payloads, spacecraft subsystems, and supporting ground systems. The role requires independent judgment, endtoend ownership, and close collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver reliable, highperformance hardware in a harsh space environment.

The day-to-day
  • Provide seniorlevel engineering leadership in the architecture, design, analysis, and testing of power converters for harsh and highreliability environments
  • Own power electronics system and subsystem design trades, requirements definition, and technical decisionmaking with minimal supervision
  • Lead schematic design, component selection, and topology selection for power conversion hardware across a wide range of voltages and power levels
  • Design, analyze, and support custom magnetics, including wirewound and planar inductors and transformers
  • Define, plan, and execute verification, qualification, and environmental testing for power electronics hardware
  • Perform and review modeling, simulation, loop stability analysis, and control compensation design
  • Act as the technical escalation point for design challenges, anomalies, and failure investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Work closely with systems, payload, PCB, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing, and test engineers to deliver integrated solutions
  • Mentor and technically guide other engineers, helping preserve and transfer institutional knowledge in power electronics
  • Support production, integration, and missioncritical schedules as required

What you'll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in power electronics design and development
  • Demonstrated experience owning designs from concept through qualification and release
  • Strong handson experience with magnetics design and power component selection
  • Proven ability to work independently, define technical approaches, and obtain results with minimal direction
  • Experience with modeling, simulation, laboratory testing, and hardware debug
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • US Citizenship required
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

What will help you on the job
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Strong grasp of analog control systems and discrete logic
  • Experience with voltagemode and currentmode control and compensation techniques
  • Broad knowledge of power conversion architectures and the ability to select optimal solutions for complex constraints
  • Experience designing for fault tolerance, reliability, and derating
