Job description

Are you passionate about turning data into powerful insights that drive business decisions? BCT is looking for a Senior Analytics Developer who thrives on solving complex challenges with clean, scalable BI solutions. You will be the go-to expert for designing & delivering impactful Power BI dashboards & applications across multiple business units. This is an on-site, 1-year contract-to-hire position in Plano, TX.

COMP: Up to $80/HR depending on candidate experience, etc.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand their analytics needs & translate them into meaningful BI products.
  • Design, develop & maintain intuitive dashboards & reports using Power BI & related technologies.
  • Continuously enhance existing BI tools to meet evolving business goals. 
  • Manage full BI solution lifecycles—scoping, planning, developing, testing, and deployment.
  • Guide and mentor BI Specialists and Analysts to ensure successful project execution.
  • Oversee patches, upgrades, and incident resolution, ensuring seamless system performance. 
  • Create test plans & validation scripts to ensure all solutions meet high standards for accuracy & performance.
  • Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvements. 
  • Act as a subject matter expert for internal teams, providing troubleshooting support & end-user training.
  • Lead sessions on data marts and BI best practices to promote data literacy across the organization. 
  • Collaborate with the BI Leader to influence the strategic BI roadmap and data governance frameworks.
  • Help define and enforce development standards while mentoring junior team members.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in BI/data analytics.
  • 3+ years working with Power BI: data modeling, DAX, and dashboard/report development.
  • Solid foundation in data architecture and modeling principles.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with programming tools like Python or R.
  • Familiarity with database systems (e.g., MS SQL Server, Oracle, NoSQL).
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, or other cloud environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) preferred.
  • Knowledge of other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik) preferred.
  • Experience with data governance, quality standards, and data security preferred.
