Power BI Developer – Financial ReportingWe are looking for a BI Developer who brings Power BI experience to the table, and ideally a background developing dashboards and reports to support a finance team. This position actually will sit on the Financial Reporting team, with a goal of "shortening time to insight". Currently, we're still using Excel to manually create and analyze reports. This position's goal is to automate these processes. We aren't looking for someone to be heads down banging on a keyboard the entire day – we're looking for someone who is truly passionate about the insights their work is bringing and can be creative to help us think through solutions to meet the common goal of "shortening time to insight". You'll be touching all aspects of the business: CapEx, to FP&A, Senior Leadership, Procurement, you name it.What you'll be doing:Develop and maintain value-add Power BI Dashboards and assist in system and process improvementPerform special ad-hoc analysis and projectsExtract and summarize various research and industry data publications including the RealPage (Market Analytics, Performance Analytics, Axiometrics, MPF, AI Revenue Management), Green Street Advisors, Oxford Economics, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Census Bureau, etc.Prepare and review recurring reports such as: Quarterly board meeting presentation which entails coordinating with different various teams (Capital Analytics, Transactions, FP&A, Revenue Management, Strategic Initiatives, etc.) on deliverables presented to senior leadership team along with originating new ideas highlighting performance, industry trends, and macro trendsMonthly market trends which entails aggregating and reviewing industry data impacting multifamily sector including employment, wage and job growth, new supply, rent and occupancy trends, affordability ratios and lease trade outMonthly financial reporting results package report which entails extracting and aggregating portfolio data, preparing summary spreadsheets, graphs, tables, and Microsoft Power BI Dashboards along with evaluating performance metrics, highlighting notable issues and trends, and developing meaningful and insightful commentarySkills we're seeking:1.5+ years of experience with Power BI DevelopmentAt least some experience developing financial related dashboards/reports and/or working in a financial services related industryNice to have experience:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/IT related field or a Finance related fieldSQL experience (writing queries, extracting data)VBA experienceExperience presenting findings and recommendations to key stakeholders
