Job description

Ebert Farms is hiring a Farm Equipment Operator – Farmhand to join our team in Kinsley, KS (about 35 miles northeast of Dodge City). In this role, you will operate and maintain farm machinery and agricultural equipment, including tractors, planters, and sprayers.

We are also open to seasonal truck drivers who are interested in helping during our busy seasons. If you have truck driving experience and are looking for seasonal work with a local farming operation, we encourage you to apply.

We are a privately owned agricultural operation based in Southern Kansas, managing 3,000 acres of irrigated farmland and 3,000 acres of dryland farm ground. Our operation produces corn, soybeans, and wheat and includes a 250-head cattle operation. In this role you will:

  • Operate farm machinery and agricultural equipment for planting, strip tillage, drilling, and harvesting
  • Perform seasonal farm tasks such as irrigation and spraying
  • Assist with cattle operations, including calving
  • Support daily farm operations throughout the year, with responsibilities changing based on the season
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and complete routine repairs on farm machinery and equipment
  • Assist with all phases of crop production and overall farm operations
  • Assist with truck driving and hauling needs as needed

This job is for you if you have:

  • Previous experience operating farm machinery or agricultural equipment is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate
  • Familiarity with GPS and auto steer agricultural equipment is a plus
