Job description

Job Summary:

Keep the kitchen staff supplied with clean dishes, pots, pans and utensils, maintain kitchen equipment, keep kitchen clean and stocked, and assist cook by preparing various food ingredients, while remaining in compliance with all Clark County Health Department (CCHD) and OSHA rules, and company policies and procedures as they pertain to the position.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Re-stock dishes in front of restaurant
  • May perform other prep work for food items
  • Miscellaneous side jobs such as marrying ice cream and filling dressings
  • Wash dishes, glass, silverware and all other service ware and other cooking utensils, pots and pans using proper water temperature
  • Deep clean stainless steel
  • Inspect dishes and utensils after washing to ensure their cleanliness
  • Clean and sanitize all worktables, equipment and pots
  • Maintain all dishwashing machines in operating order with necessary chemicals, detergents and additives
  • Maintain all kitchen equipment through regular cleaning and report any and all malfunctions
  • Ensure that kitchen floors are free of debris and spills
  • Clean and mop kitchen floors, steam clean floor mats
  • Stock produce on shelves and rotate properly
  • Prepare vegetables for soups and salads
  • Break down boxes
  • Check garbage for accidental discard of silverware and other equipment
  • Remove garbage from kitchens and dump it in the designated waste area
  • Deliver and re-stock dishes to food outlets
  • Bus tubs on front and back of cook's line in food outlets
  • Stock garnishments, condiments, and ingredients for sundaes, salads, soups
  • Perform other duties as assigned
