Job description

Build our future together:

At Regeneron, we use science and innovation to develop life-changing medicines for people with serious diseases. The Late-Stage Bioassay group within the Therapeutic Proteins Department is seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist to support the development, optimization, and qualification of cell-based and molecular assays for our gene therapy pipeline, including AAV, siRNA, and antibody-oligonucleotide conjugate (AOC) programs. In this role, you will develop and optimize potency bioassays to support preclinical and clinical programs, perform sample testing in support of preclinical manufacturing process and product characterization, and help transfer qualified assays to GMP laboratories.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing, science-driven organization making a meaningful difference to patients worldwide.

When & where:
  • Location: Tarrytown, NY

  • Work model: Onsite

Discover your role:
  • Develop, optimize, and qualify cell-based potency assays to support gene therapy programs.

  • Execute qPCR, ELISA, Western blot, and related molecular or cell-based assays with strong attention to detail and reproducibility.

  • Maintain healthy adherent and non-adherent mammalian cell cultures, including engineered or stable cell lines used in assay development.

  • Operate laboratory instruments such as flow cytometers, plate readers (SpectraMax, EnVision), and other automated systems to support assay execution and data generation.

  • Analyze data using appropriate statistical methods and document experiments, results, and conclusions clearly in the electronic lab notebook (ELN).

  • Present findings in group and cross-functional meetings and contribute to assay troubleshooting, optimization, and technical decision-making.

  • Support sample testing for preclinical manufacturing process and product characterization.

  • Help transfer qualified assays to GMP laboratories.

This role requires:
  • A Bachelors with at least 3 years of relevant laboratory experience, or a Masters with 0-2 years of experience

  • Hands-on experience with cell-based assays, preferably including potency assays.

  • Experience with qPCR, ELISA, and CE-Western blotting.

  • Strong mammalian cell culture skills and the ability to execute experiments independently and reliably.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask across multiple workflows in a fast-paced environment

  • Preferred experience includes mRNA expression measurement using qPCR, Luciferase reporter-based assays, immunofluorescence staining and imaging-based assay readouts, automated imaging or plate-based analytical platforms, and GraphPad Prism data analysis experience
