Job description

We pride ourselves in serving quality products and giving customer service. We are a specialty bakery that serves modern Filipino inspired pastries!

This “back-of-house” position is where it all begins. You take our top-secret ingredients and put them all together to create the best donuts, cronuts and pastries in the world. It’s a big responsibility that demands accuracy, timing, and pride that every donut looks and tastes perfect.

Overview of Position: A Pastry Cook is responsible for preparing baked products such as croissants, cronuts, cakes, and other pastries. These products must meet Purple Potato's standards and exceed customer expectations. They demonstrate competency in a variety of store practices and procedures and adhere rigorously to store standards. A commitment to teamwork, a clean and professional appearance, enthusiasm, and a high energy level are necessary throughout the shift. One of the most important jobs in our company, this job requires a clean-as-you-go working mindset and a pleasant disposition. You are the Star of the Donut Theater!

Position Responsibilities:

Produce donuts that meet Purple Potato's standards by operating donut-making equipment.

Prepare all ingredients necessary for pastry production

Complete a proper production schedule on a regular basis, always striving to minimize waste.

Inspect all pastries and remove any that are misshapen, too small, or otherwise imperfect.

Regularly clean and perform preventive maintenance on equipment.

Demonstrate ability to convert weights and measurements using the United States metric system.

Maintain a pleasant and courteous demeanor.

Practice "Clean as you go" techniques to maintain a clean work area.

Demonstrate safety consciousness at all times and report all incidents to a manager.

Assist in maintaining a high level of store sanitation and cleanliness.

Report any equipment failure or issues to the manager in a timely manner.

Consistently model all store policies, standards, and practices to ensure efficient processes are maintained and quality product is produced on your shift.

Coach/train new employees in production.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Pleasant disposition, friendly, sociable, accommodating nature, and enthusiastic

Practice "Clean as you go" techniques to maintain a clean work area

Ability to make simple mathematical calculations

Must be able to read and communicate using the English language

Valued but not required skills and experience:

Food Service experience

Experience with basic equipment repair and maintenance

Bakery/Cake Decorating experience

Croissant making experience

Must have valid Drivers License & ability to drive donuts for delivery.
