Job Title: Cassandra Admin
Location: San Jose CA/ RTP NC
Duration: Contract

Key Responsibilities:
The Cassandra / DataStax L3 DBA will administer Apache Cassandra and DataStax Enterprise clusters running on Linux.
Responsibilities include installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, node addition and removal, cluster and data-center expansion, backup and restore, repair, replication, and compaction. The role requires deep knowledge of Cassandra architecture, replication factors, consistency levels, partitioning, and token/ring management, as well as performance troubleshooting for CPU, memory, disk I/O, garbage collection, latency, tombstones, SSTables, and compaction issues.
The DBA will use DataStax OpsCenter for monitoring, alerting, and administration and will support Spark and Graph workloads.
Strong Linux administration and shell scripting skills are essential.
Preferred secondary experience includes Redis Stack administration, Kubernetes-based database administration, and working knowledge of PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, with a willingness to learn MS SQL Server.
Candidate must be able to support PST business hours.
