Roles & Responsibilities:
Position Overview
Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, NYC is seeking to hire a medicinal chemistry postdoctoral fellow for novel small molecule drug discovery projects in interesting therapeutic areas of unmet medical need including diabetes, orphan disease, neuroscience, IBD and oncology.
The role will require the structure-based drug design and synthesis of novel medicinal compounds for testing in in vitro and in vivo assays that support the basic biology and drug discovery research efforts. PhD in medicinal chemistry or organic synthesis required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Docking and structure-based drug design based on known ligands and X-ray crystallography co-crystal data available from collaborator labs. Preparation, purification and characterization of compounds in chemistry laboratory; documentation of all experiments in electronic lab notebooks (ELN) including written, publication quality, experimental procedures. Operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments - HPLC and LC-MS for example. Safe laboratory habits and experimental practices.

Study Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism and Excretion (ADME) properties
Evaluate drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK) in preclinical species
