The Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Iona University invites applications for a Clinical Lecturer position in Entrepreneurship to begin in Fall 2026 as a non-tenure track, long term renewable contractual appointment. 

The Clinical Lecturer position is a 10-month faculty position that includes teaching 24 credits each academic year (fall and spring semesters), service to the Hynes Institute and the university, and requires a commitment to ongoing professional engagement. 

Iona University and the Hynes Institute emphasize teaching excellence. Expected teaching responsibilities include various course offerings at the Hynes Institute, especially: Introduction to Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Business Modeling, and capstone courses. 

In addition to the responsibilities of a Clinical Lecturer noted above, the position includes serving as the GaelVentures Summer Incubator Manager. The responsibilities include the planning, recruitment, and day to day operations of the in person 6 week summer incubator program at GaelVentures (748 North Ave), starting in summer 2027. The summer incubator program ordinarily runs from the beginning of June to mid-July (Mo through Thu; 9 AM to 5 PM). Compensation for the incubator manager role includes a $15,000 summer stipend in addition to the Clinical Lecturer salary. The stipend is subject to annual review and renewal based on funding availability and demonstrated program success.

Required Qualifications

  • An MBA/MS from an accredited institution.
  • At least five years of professional experience in starting and/or operating a business or non-profit organization. 
  • Experience in leading people, programs, or organizational units in an entrepreneurial or innovation driven environment, with responsibility for mentoring, staff development, or team leadership.
  • Demonstrate teaching excellence at the collegiate level.
  • Evidence that the candidate can meet and sustain the college's AACSB faculty qualification requirements for Instructional Practitioner status at a minimum. AACSB defines instructional practitioners as “faculty who have normally attained a master’s degree related to their field of teaching; have professional experience substantial in duration and responsibility at the time of hire; and who sustain currency and relevancy through continued professional experience and engagement related to their professional background and experience in their field of teaching.”

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating or working with business incubation and/or start up support programs/organizations.
  • Successful track record of securing external funding to support their business or organization. 

Salary Range

$80,000.00 to $83,000.00 Salary/year (plus summer stipend for Summer Incubator Manager role).
