Metallurgist - Tucson, Arizona

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to many of the world's top-recognized brands and companies, is actively seeking a Metallurgist to join our Minerals team in Tucson, AZ. This is a fantastic opportunity to expand an accomplished career in Metallurgy and Materials Sciences.

Intertek Minerals provides geochemical assay and testing services, minerals inspection and trade services to support the minerals and mining supply chain globally from grassroots exploration to final product shipment. With industry-recognized technical expertise and an established global network, Intertek offers end to end Total Quality Assurance across our clients' entire resource development chain.

What are we looking for?

The Metallurgist will be working on Mineral Processing projects and will have experience with Copper SXEW, Heap Leach and base metal flotation. Experience in operations and metallurgical testing will be well suited for this role.

Shift/Schedule: Standard office hours, Monday-Friday

What you'll do:

  • Supervise and manage metallurgical resources (equipment and technicians) to ensure metallurgical tests are performed: safely, accurately and on schedule
  • Assist with set-up and layout of facility
  • Interpret metallurgical test work results
  • Liaise with clients to ensure their objectives are met
  • Prepare quotations and proposal based on client needs

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mineral Processing, Extractive Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
  • Metallurgical testing experience in a laboratory setting is required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Good communication skills with well-developed written and oral skills
  • 3 years experience in Flotation and Leaching  


Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in mineral processing; gold or copper processing preferred
