Job description

POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE IN INDOOR ATMOSPHERIC CHEMISTRY, Civil and Environmental Engineering, to work on atmospheric chemical mechanism development under the supervision of Prof. Jesse Kroll. The position is within a dynamic, diverse research group (http://krollgroup.mit.edu) aimed at better understanding the chemistry underlying air quality and climate. The researcher will lead a project focused on assessing the indoor air quality implications of various air cleaning devices. This includes the use of state-of-the-art analytical tools to assess the direct emissions from air cleaners, investigation of the chemical transformations than can occur within the devices, and estimates of the resulting health effects. As part of this work, the researcher will work closely with researchers at MIT and elsewhere, and present results at scientific conferences and in the peer-reviewed literature.
