Matt Hilton, a premier researcher at Duke University, has a postdoctoral associate position in his lab working on an NIH funded project aimed at understanding the molecular regulation of post-traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA)-associated joint degeneration and pain.
  • A PhD is required
  • Prior experience working with murine models of PTOA-associated cartilage catabolism and pain using pharmacologic treatments
  • Onsite. The work is performed on-site or at a designated assignment location.

  • Use (JAK inhibitors), histological (SafO/Fast Green and H&E stains), IHC or IF staining for cartilage catabolic and pain-related molecules, as well as cellular (cartilage and dorsal root ganglia explant cultures) and molecular (qPCR, RNA-seq) analyses.
  • Generate data associated with the pharmacologic regulation of JAK signaling in PTOA-associated cartilage catabolism and pain
  • Aid in the analysis and interpretation of that data
  • Participate in manuscript preparations and revisions, and present data.
