Job description

Description
Hosted by Fred Hutch's Immunotherapy and Translational Data Science Integrated Research Centers
The Translational Data Science and Immunotherapy Integrated Research Centers at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center invite Ph.D. (or equivalent) students and recent graduates planning to begin a postdoctoral position by November 2027 to apply for PRIMeD at Fred Hutch Cancer Center in Seattle, WA. This fully funded, three-day visit allows prospective postdoctoral fellows the opportunity to explore the breadth of research in immunotherapy and data science at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. Participants will have the opportunity to share their research, learn about faculty research programs, network with Fred Hutch postdocs and faculty, and learn about the postdoctoral training environment and the vast resources available at Fred Hutch. This program is designed for students interested in pursuing a postdoctoral fellowship in immunology and/or data science. Students either currently in immunology, data science or interested in switching fields are equally encouraged to apply.
Students accepted into the program will give an oral presentation of their work, hear from Fred Hutch scientists, and have opportunities to engage in scientific discussions with Fred Hutch faculty and trainees. Following the symposium, participants can apply for open positions in labs of interest, and those hired will have the opportunity to apply for postdoctoral fellowships through the IRCs.
Immunotherapy at Fred Hutch
Immunotherapy research at Fred Hutch builds on decades of pioneering work in basic immunology and transplantation with the overarching goal of discovering curative therapies for all cancers. Built from a solid foundation of translational research in solid and hematologic malignancies, our group includes strong research programs in cell therapy (TCR/CAR) and transplant immunotherapy and is expanding in tumor microenvironment, immune checkpoint & regulation, immunogenomics, and therapeutic vaccines, among others.

Data Science at Fred Hutch
Recent advancements in statistics, computational techniques, and experimental technologies are transforming how we generate and analyze data. This big data has big potential. That potential can only be fully realized through collaboration between researchers with complementary skill sets, approaches, and resources. The Translational Data Science Integrated Research Center (TDS IRC) harnesses these advances and expertise to spur innovation and open new avenues for preventing and treating cancer and related diseases. The TDS IRC builds on recent data-based advances in the biomedical sciences, including technologies that are driving the generation of massive datasets, the exponential growth of publicly available data, and revolutionary approaches in statistics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence that are changing data analysis.
