MicrobiologyPosition Title:Assistant Professor - Microbiology, Molecular Genetics and ImmunologyJob Family Group: AcademicJob Description Summary:The Department of Microbiology, Molecular Genetics and Immunology at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level with research programs in the general area of microbial pathogenesis and immunology. The Department is currently undergoing expansion and growth. For the current open position, preference will be given to candidates taking innovative approaches to study molecular mechanisms of either (i) cancer immunology, or (ii) bacterial pathogenesis that complement and synergize with existing expertise within the Department and the KUMC research community. Successful applicants must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. (or similar doctoral degree) and are expected to be highly motivated with excellent communication, teaching, and writing skills, and to have demonstrated ability to conduct independent research with an impactful publication record.Job Description:Required QualificationsEducation: Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree, including postdoctoral training, with an immunology focus
This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position.
