Position Summary
In support of Morehouse School of Medicine's Vision; "Leading the creation and advancement of health equity," the Institute of Translational Genomic Medicine s in search of an energetic, motivated scientist interested in genomic medicine.
Under the general guidance of the Principal Investigator, the incumbent will be responsible for independently designing, conducting, analyzing and evaluating experiments related to the lab's areas of interest. Postdoctoral fellow will provide training of staff/students as needed. This position is part of an innovative initiative to launch behavioral digital platforms that use pervasive technologies applied to public health and clinical medicine.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • Ph.D. in Life science or M.D from a regionally accredited college or university.

Description of Job Duty
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Serve as a senior, top-level contributor in research activities, under the mentorship of the Principal Investigator.
Develop and contribute to new research/experimental areas, including potential research projects independent of the main goals of the lab (with permission and consultation from the Principal Investigator).
Presents data in the form of weekly updates to the research team. Promote project and research by presenting in other scientific forums (including but not limited to scientific conferences and publications).
Remain updated with cutting edge technology and develop complex techniques, and teaches these procedures as needed. Supervises any students assigned to help with various research project tasks.
May provide consultation and expertise on other complex projects and is considered to be a high-level scientist.
Identify and may apply for grant funding of independent projects, as applicable.
