POSITION DESCRIPTION

CDL Driver

SUMMARY OVERVIEW

The CDL Driver is responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles, including buses, trucks, or other transport equipment, to facilitate passenger transportation and airport logistics. This role involves adhering to all traffic laws and regulations, conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, and ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers. As our CDL Driver, you may also assist in loading and unloading luggage or cargo and providing exceptional customer service to passengers. Attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently within and around the airport premises 
• Transport goods, equipment, and personnel between various airport locations 
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding commercial vehicle operations 
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles, reporting any maintenance issues immediately 
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, rest periods, and vehicle maintenance in accordance with DOT regulations 
• Load and unload cargo, ensuring secure and proper stowage 
• Navigate busy airport areas, adhering to specific traffic rules and regulations 
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and airport personnel for smooth operations 
• Respond promptly to changes in schedules or routes as directed by management 
• Assist in emergency situations as required, following airport safety protocols 
• Keep the vehicle clean and presentable, performing minor maintenance tasks as needed 
• Adhere to all airport security measures and access control protocols 
• Participate in safety meetings and training sessions related to commercial driving and airport operations 
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with airport staff and passengers 
• Perform additional duties as assigned, such as assisting in other areas of airport operations 
• Exemplify PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS

• 18 years of age or older
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
• 1 Year of CDL driving experience 
• CDL license 
• 1 Years of customer service experience 
• Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
• Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
• Pass a background check and drug screen
• Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
• Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays

• Tasks may involve repetitive motions of the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
