Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a qualified individual to serve as an on-site Video Editor in support of our Government client. The I Post Audio Mixer/Sound Designer candidate will set up, operate, and maintain a working knowledge of video editing hardware and software, and will determine audio and visual elements as guided by the Video Director's guidance (soundtrack, effects, graphic elements, voice-over, and transitions). The role requires proficient storytelling technique and technical editing procedure to craft raw footage into a linear, engaging, educational, and informative narrative that meets requirements predetermined by the client -or determined in-process based on specific content or subject matter. The candidate will distribute product/elements to applicable production team members for completion, submit product for approval, and apply requested revisions. The candidate must understand and implement principles of Audio for Post Production to broadcast standards, and deliver finished product across both traditional broadcast and current web/digital distribution channels including platform-specific specs, captioning, and accessibility requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and maintain video editing hardware and software
  • Edit raw footage into a cohesive, broadcast-ready narrative under the Video Director's guidance
  • Select and integrate soundtrack, sound effects, graphic elements, voice-over, and transitions
  • Apply Audio for Post Production principles to broadcast and web/digital standards (levels, mix, mastering for multiple delivery formats)
  • Color correct/grade footage for consistency across a project and across platforms
  • Prepare and deliver captioned/accessible versions of finished product for web distribution, per current accessibility standards (e.g., 508 compliance where applicable)
  • Distribute in-progress and final product to relevant team members for review and completion
  • Submit product for client approval; receive, interpret, and apply requested changes accurately and on schedule
  • Sort, arrange, and manage a wide range of raw and archived media in an organized, retrievable system
  • Adapt finished long-form content into shorter derivative cuts for web/social distribution channels when required
  • Maintain awareness of current post-production tools and techniques, including Al-assisted workflows (e.g., transcription, rough-cut assembly, noise reduction), and apply them where appropriate to improve efficiency without compromising editorial judgment or client standards Job
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Radio/Television, Film, Fine Arts, or a media-related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5-8 years of related work experience, with the ability to operate a range of relevant production and postproduction equipment
  • Demonstrated video production workflow experience
  • Substantial, demonstrated experience with video editing software using proper technique -Adobe Premiere Pro required; working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve a plus
  • Experience with Logic Pro or comparable audio editing/mixing software Working knowledge of motion graphics/compositing tools (e.g., After Effects) a plus
  • Ability to sort, arrange, and manage a wide range of media while constructing a compelling, coherent story
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment, both independently and as part of a team, with minimal oversight
  • Self-starter capable of executing responsibilities with limited direction
  • Experience editing, sound designing, and mixing for broadcast, reality TV, commercials, and long- or shortform documentaries is a plus
  • Familiarity with captioning/accessibility requirements and multi-platform (broadcast + web/digital) delivery specs is a plus
Minimum requirements
  • Be able to pass any necessary background investigation.
  • Possess a current and valid state driver's license.
  • to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power-Point.
  • Be a self-starter and be able to execute responsibilities with minimum oversight.
  • Have the ability to plan and organize work activities to achieve established program objectives and goals.
  • Have strong interpersonal and management skills.
  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Be responsible for the securing and safeguarding of all Government property, including documents and equipment.
  • Responsibilities may require extended work hours and some travel. This position does not pay for overtime
