Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee environmental projects involving hazardous building materials and environmental compliance. This hybrid role is based in Kailua, Hawaii, with flexibility for occasional remote work.
The successful candidate will manage environmental investigations, remediation projects, inspections, and regulatory compliance efforts while coordinating with clients, contractors, and internal teams. This position requires strong project leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Manage environmental projects from planning through completion.
Develop project strategies, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and internal teams.
Oversee inspections, investigations, and remediation activities involving hazardous materials.
Prepare, review, and manage project proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates.
Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations.
Supervise field activities and provide technical guidance to project teams.
Manage project logistics and expedite critical milestones to ensure timely completion.
Foster strong client relationships and support business development efforts.
Qualifications
Demonstrated project management experience, including planning, organization, scheduling, and resource allocation for environmental or hazardous materials projects.
Experience with asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, and other hazardous building materials investigations and remediation oversight.
Strong cost estimating and proposal-writing experience.
Knowledge of inspection processes and industry best practices related to environmental compliance and hazardous materials.
Experience managing project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
Ability to effectively balance field and office responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar credential.
Certifications related to asbestos inspection, management planning, project monitoring, design, or supervision.
Experience supporting building demolition, renovation, or redevelopment projects involving hazardous materials.
Experience leading small teams and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
