Elementary Teachers & Music Teacher – Merrill Elementary School

Location: Merrill Elementary School – Beloit, WI
Pay Rate: $40/hour
Schedule: Full-Time, School Year Position

Position Overview

The General Education Teacher provides instruction to students in a standard classroom setting, delivering curriculum aligned with state and district standards. The teacher supports students' academic growth, social development, and overall well-being while creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. Teachers collaborate with staff, families, and administrators to ensure student success and achievement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver standards-based instruction aligned with Wisconsin Academic Standards
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet diverse student needs
  • Assess student learning through assignments, projects, quizzes, tests, and informal observations
  • Maintain a structured, safe, and positive classroom environment
  • Differentiate instruction to support varying learning styles and abilities
  • Collaborate with special education teachers, instructional aides, counselors, and administrators
  • Support and implement IEP accommodations and modifications as needed

Music Teacher Responsibilities

In addition to the duties above, the K–5 Music Teacher will:

  • Provide engaging music instruction for elementary students
  • Teach music fundamentals including rhythm, melody, notation, movement, and performance
  • Prepare students for concerts, performances, and school music activities
  • Foster creativity and appreciation for music through hands-on learning experiences
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Music Education, or a related field
  • Valid Wisconsin DPI Teaching License
  • Knowledge of Wisconsin Academic Standards
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills
  • Ability to foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching in an elementary school setting
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Knowledge of differentiated instruction and inclusive practices
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • For the Music Teacher position, Music Education certification and elementary music experience preferred
Working Conditions
