DescriptionThis is a time limited maintenance position. The successful candidate with provide maintenance related support to the Facilities Department on the Trinidad Campus. This temporary position will run through September 2026.
Examples of DutiesDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:- Provides maintenance expertise and support to include general building maintenance and preventative maintenance to include minor welding, plumbing and electrical work;
- As required, replaces basic electrical components and plumbing fixtures;
- Inspects and performs preventative maintenance on ground equipment, sprinkler systems, boiler and plumbing systems;
- Installs and repairs fences, fills potholes, paints curbing for fire lanes, no parking and handicap parking areas;
- As required, ensures sidewalks and stairs are free of snow;
- Provides maintenance and care of campus grounds, including but not limited to mowing, trimming, sprinkler servicing,
- Assists with all facility and grounds maintenance related additions, enhancements, improvements and repairs to include but not limited to sidewalks, greenery, construction of walls and installation of doors and windows and other minor construction related projects;
- Ensure maintenance operations are carried out in a professional, timely and safe manner in accordance with the best applicable practices, guidelines, procedures and policies.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications- Three or more years of progressively responsible experience in structural trades, to include: electrical, HVAC and/or general maintenance experience in troubleshooting, repair and installation electrical components. Successful completion of a formalized apprenticeship program or higher-level course work from an accredited vocational trade school in electrical, HVAC, or carpentry may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis;
- Demonstrable experience and success completing structural projects across a variety of trades;
- Strong teamwork and facilitation skills and an ability to collaborate effectively and efficiently with college personnel and outside contractors;
- Experience interpreting print drawings;
- Physical plant maintenance experience within a higher education or multi-building setting;
- Self- motivated with proven critical thinking, problem-solving and time management skills;
- A strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
