Job description

This position reports to:
Production Supervisor
Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory)
The person in this position is responsible for inspecting, counting and packaging product per standardized work instructions and quality standards. Assemblers are expected to work safely, ensure they are packing quality product, and keep up 5S in their work area.
The work model for the role is onsite in Portland, TN.
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
  • Visual quality inspections
  • Place product in box with appropriate count in each box
  • Label product and boxes
  • Tape boxes
  • Lift and carry boxes up to 45 lbs.
  • Monitor equipment operation
  • Assist in training of new employees
  • Maintain work area in clean and orderly fashion - 5S
  • Follow standardized work instructions
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing efforts
  • Participate in Kaizen events
  • Cover other positions following appropriate training as needed

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum one month or less similar or related work experience
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request parts or supplies verbally or in writing

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Lean 101
