POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Qcells is seeking a Manager within its Project Finance - Portfolio Transactions team to lead the execution of asset and portfolio sales into Qcells' arms-length AssetCo joint venture vehicles. This role will be responsible for managing transactions from diligence through closing, coordinating cross-functional workstreams, driving financial and commercial analysis, and helping ensure timely, disciplined execution of project and portfolio monetization.
The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of transaction management, financial modeling, commercial judgment, diligence coordination, and negotiation support, with experience in renewable energy project finance and M&A-style execution. This individual will work closely with internal Development, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and executive stakeholders, as well as external JV partners, investors, lenders, and advisors. This role will be based on-site in Teaneck NJ
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead transaction execution and project management for the sale, transfer, or contribution of solar and storage assets and portfolios into AssetCo JV vehicles.
  • Serve as a day-to-day transaction lead across internal and external stakeholders to drive deals from development complete, marketing / sale prep and diligence through definitive documentation and closing.
  • Coordinate cross-functional deal execution across Development, Engineering, Legal, Finance, Tax, EPC, and executive leadership to ensure alignment on transaction timing, value drivers, and key risks.
  • Prepare and manage transaction materials, including investment memoranda, marketing materials, diligence trackers, process letters, and information packages for counterparties, financing parties, and advisors.
  • Organize, manage, and track due diligence processes, including data rooms, diligence requests, open items lists, and closing deliverables.
  • Lead the negotiation and execution of transaction documents, including purchase and sale agreements, diligence support materials, and closing-related deliverables.
  • Oversee and enhance transaction, valuation, and financing models used to evaluate project and portfolio transfers, returns, capital structures, and value capture.
  • Partner closely with acquisitions and pricing teams to ensure project valuation assumptions, transfer economics, and underwriting outputs appropriately reflect market conditions, risk allocation, and strategic value.
  • Drive accountability to transaction timelines and ensure a strong sense of urgency around issue resolution, stakeholder coordination, and closings.
  • Mentor and develop analysts and senior analysts within the Project Finance team, including review of work product, modeling guidance and best practices, and broader transaction coaching.
  • Support continuous improvement of transaction processes, diligence protocols, templates, and portfolio monetization workflows.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in project finance, renewable energy, infrastructure investing, private equity, investment banking, or strategic transactions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present analysis clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading transactions involving U.S. solar, community solar, C&I solar, and/or energy storage projects.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, including experience with project valuation, transaction structuring, and financing analysis.
  • Experience managing diligence and transaction processes across multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to assess transaction value, risk allocation, and execution tradeoffs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior internal stakeholders and external counterparties.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple active transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and drive execution across legal, technical, financial, and commercial teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior experience with AssetCo / DevCo structures, portfolio sales, JV formations, tax equity, or structured renewable energy financings.
  • Familiarity with project transfer milestones such as NTP, pre-construction, COD, and portfolio sell-down processes.
  • Experience reviewing or negotiating transaction documentation in coordination with internal or external counsel.
  • MBA, CFA, or other advanced finance credential preferred, but not required.
