Position Overview

Portfolio Performance Managers are responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and communicating portfolio performance across investment strategies. The role blends quantitative analysis, financial reporting, and investment insight to support portfolio managers, senior leadership, and investor-facing teams.

These roles often involve close collaboration with portfolio managers, investment research, risk, operations, and client-facing teams.


Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze portfolio performance across strategies, mandates, and benchmarks

  • Conduct performance attribution, contribution analysis, and return decomposition

  • Track portfolio P&L, exposures, and risk-adjusted performance metrics

  • Develop and maintain performance dashboards, analytics, and reporting tools

  • Identify performance drivers, trends, and deviations from expectations

  • Partner with portfolio managers to explain results and support investment decisions

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc performance reporting for internal and external stakeholders

  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of performance data in coordination with operations and fund accounting

  • Assist with investor reporting, presentations, and performance narratives


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field

  • Strong understanding of portfolio performance measurement, attribution methodologies, and benchmarks

  • Experience or coursework in performance analysis, portfolio analytics, or investment reporting (preferred but not required)

  • Advanced analytical skills with strong attention to detail

  • Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Python, R, SQL, or performance systems (e.g., FactSet, Bloomberg, Aladdin) is a plus

  • Ability to synthesize complex performance data into clear insights

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments

  • Strong interest in portfolio management, investment analytics, and capital markets
