Job description


The Donor Relations Associate works with our mid-level and sustaining donor programs, ensuring our supporters receive the attention they deserve, and gifts are recorded and acknowledged accurately and promptly. The Donor Relations Associate will bridge the gap between data and relationships, providing supporter’s messages to share the impact of their generosity. This position works closely with the Development, Finance and Communication teams as well as with staff across all programs and departments. 


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


Build and Maintain Donor Relationships

  • Work with a portfolio of mid-level donors ($500-$2,499+), serving as their primary relationship manager and ensuring consistent personalized engagement.
  • Coordinate Pasado’s sustainer program, grow membership through new initiatives, and increase current members’ contributions through engaging campaigns and communications.
  • Collaborate with Major Gift Officers in moves management, including identifying and qualifying donors who may be ready to move into a major gift portfolio.
  • Design and implement donor cultivation and stewardship strategies that increase donor retention and upgrade rates. Draft personalized acknowledgments for mid-level and sustaining donors that move beyond standard templates.


Coordinate Data and Systems

  • Alongside our Development Data Specialist, ensure accurate, timely processing and acknowledgment of donations in accordance with established requirements and standards.
  • Perform increased donation data-entry during times of need due to gift volume and vacations.
  • Maintain clean donor records, including updated contact info, communication preferences, contact notes, moves, and actions.
  • Track and report on mid-level donor pipeline and strategy effectiveness.


Community Engagement

  • Engage with donors, volunteers, and the public at events, including workplace giving events and community outreach opportunities. Serve as a positive and professional representative of the organization.
  • Participate in Pasado’s fundraising and stewardship events. Help create welcoming, mission-driven experiences.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • 3+ years of work experience in nonprofit development, executive administrative support, the service industry, or customer success.
  • 2+ years of experience with CRM software (e.g., Virtuous, Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge).
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Comfortable managing both data and people-facing interactions
  • Passion for animal welfare and mission-driven work
  • Constantly sit, twist, keyboard, and fine manipulation 
  • Frequently stand/walk, bend/stoop, and use wrist (flexion-extension)  
  • Occasionally climb stairs, and grasp 
      • Seldomly perform work from a ladder, climb ladder, squat/kneel, reach, work above shoulders, operate foot controls, vibratory tasks (operate machinery)

      Employment Details

      • Full-time, Non-exempt (36 hours per week)
      • Hybrid schedule: remote and onsite at our sanctuary in Monroe, WA
      • Occasional local travel required

      • Salary Range: $26.67 - $44.44 per hour
