Job description

Wealth Management Solutions, Portfolio Management Associate (Trade Coordination)

Location: 270 Park Avenue, New York

Business: Asset & Wealth Management (J.P. Morgan Private Bank)
Schedule: Full-time

The Portfolio Management Group (PMG) is the implementation engine for the Private Bank's discretionary investment business, providing leverage for investment advisors and front office partners as they pursue the Firm's growth initiatives. PMG is responsible for implementing the investment strategy and portfolio construction decisions set by the Private Banking Strategy/CIO teams, including portfolio rebalancing and ongoing risk management across investment management and trust portfolios.

This Associate role sits within a trade coordination function and is responsible for advancing approved trade ideas through the full lifecycle-pre-trade analysis, trade planning, execution coordination, and post-trade review-while ensuring adherence to risk controls, fair allocation, and best execution standards.

Key  Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed pre-trade analysis to size trades and assess platform capacity, liquidity considerations, and client/account impact.
  • Create, communicate, and syndicate a trade plan that accounts for sequencing, liquidity, and adherence to allocation policy.
  • Present trades and key nuances (constraints, risks, customization considerations) to the broader Global Portfolio Management team for awareness and coordination.
  • Maintain daily communication throughout the trade lifecycle with internal and external partners, escalating changes, risks, and issues as needed.
  • Conduct post-trade analysis versus expectations and ensure appropriate trade documentation is completed.
  • Drive efficiency improvements within the trade coordination team and broader PMG processes; partner with technology teams on workflow and tooling enhancements.
  • Assist in day-to-day oversight activities for the Six Circles mutual fund complex.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or a related discipline.
  • 3-7 years of experience in financial services; wealth management/private banking experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of investment solutions and demonstrated interest in portfolio management and markets.
  • Demonstrated track record of building relationships and partnering effectively with stakeholders at multiple levels (investment, trading, operations, and client-facing teams).
  • Prior experience operating within a risk and controls framework; strong attention to detail and sound judgment in execution.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to synthesize trade considerations for broad audiences.
  • CFA designation or progress toward CFA preferred (not required).
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Python and experience working with large datasets (analysis, automation, workflow efficiency).
