Role Summary

The Senior Portfolio Investment Analyst (PIA) resides within the Investment and Trading Solutions group and partners closely with Portfolio Managers, and traders to support the growing ETF business and the day-to-day management of Multi-Asset funds. The team supports cross-asset portfolio modeling with a specialization in derivatives and builds tools that expand capabilities for new client and regulatory mandates while introducing controls that reduce risk and strengthen the operating environment. The Senior PIA is expected to bring sound judgment, strong cross-functional partnership, and a continuous-improvement mindset to a complex and fast-moving investment platform.

Responsibilities

  • Independently oversee strategy coverage and day-to-day portfolio implementation, escalating issues thoughtfully and driving resolution with a strong risk and control mindset.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers and traders to determine implementation processes for new strategies.
  • Continue to evaluate and refine modeling capabilities to adapt to changing needs and ensure future state scalability.
  • Coordinate with Capital Markets teams to support new ETF launches and the ongoing management of funds, including modeling, rebalancing, monitoring, and publishing proxy basket composition.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on portfolio modeling and implementation, providing guidance on complex issues and helping stakeholders navigate sophisticated workflows.
  • Build and enhance modeling tools that expand the team's ability to support new client requirements and evolving regulatory mandates.
  • Design and strengthen controls that improve process discipline, promote best practices, and reduce operational and investment risk.
  • Support derivatives modeling across asset classes and contribute to the continued evolution of the team's cross-asset capabilities.
  • Establish and maintain a strong understanding of each Portfolio Manager's investment process and translate that understanding into efficient portfolio implementation.
  • Collaborate with PIAs across the Baltimore, London, and Hong Kong trading desks to share information, align on best practices, and drive consistency across regions.
  • Partner with Compliance and Legal to interpret investment requirements, resolve guideline questions, and determine the best approach for monitoring compliance.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Math, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 4+ years of T. Rowe Price or relevant industry experience
  • Prior experience supporting equity, ETF, or cross-asset portfolios
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess issues quickly and develop practical solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to process information efficiently, draw sound conclusions, and communicate recommendations clearly
  • Data-driven mindset with strong technology aptitude
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, organize, and execute effectively across multiple responsibilities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational discipline
  • Project management experience

Preferred:

  • Progress toward an MBA, MS in Finance, or CFA designation
  • Direct experience with equity portfolios and ETFs
  • Experience supporting ETF launches, fund implementation, or Capital Markets-related workflows
  • Knowledge of derivatives and portfolio modeling across multiple asset classes
  • Experience developing or enhancing modeling tools, controls, or process automation

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.

Base Salary Ranges

$95,000.00-$110,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers
$95,000.00-$110,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$95,000.00-$110,000.00 for the location of: New York, California

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual's relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
