Description

The primary role of the LPM is to support the analysis of the credit worthiness of the organization's commercial credit relationships. This role is responsible for the client credit relationships in the commercial lending segment, frequently serving as a client's secondary point of contact with the bank. Affects sound and consistent underwriting and management of commercial loan risk within the assigned team while still balancing a commitment to loan, deposit, and fee growth, overall client profitability, client retention, and credit quality.

LPM will be assigned a commercial loan portfolio consisting of small commercial relationships, defined as those under $250,000 aggregate exposure.  

Job Duties:

Help manage the bank's portfolio of commercial and agricultural loans in close coordination with the lender.

Provides credit analysis, servicing and risk management support, however, the ultimate responsibility for borrowers' relationships, credit decisions and portfolio performance rests with the lender.

Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Have knowledge and understanding of general accounting and tax principles.

Monitoring borrower payment performance, financial statement collection, and covenants.

Help prepare annual and interim borrower reviews, analyzing financials and collateral.

Identify potential credit issues early and recommend solutions.

Assist with loan renewals, modifications, documentation, and compliance.

Review financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow to assess repayment ability.

Collaborate with Lending, Credit and Operations to strengthen accurate portfolio reporting.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree plus 1-3-years combination of credit and lending experience 

Associate degree plus 4-6 years of equivalent experience

High School Diploma plus 7+ years of equivalent experience

Minimum Work Experience:

1-year commercial credit experience is preferred but 3+ years' consumer and mortgage underwriting is acceptable.

1-year commercial lending experience is preferred but 3+ years' consumer and mortgage lending is acceptable.

1-3 years of commercial or consumer/mortgage or portfolio management experience.

1-3 years of loan collection experience. 

Proven understanding of credit underwriting (combination of personal, mortgage and business acceptable)

Ability to actively monitor, analyze and assess loan credit risks

Strong learner, compliance and ownership mindset

Demonstrates the Sterling Federal Values in all work activities

Compensation:

$65,000 to $85,000

Position will qualify for 10% Commissions on loan fee income generated
